We design and build solar power plants across Portugal and Europe.

From land to grid connection: development, permitting, engineering, installation and maintenance of solar PV projects, run from Alentejo, one of the sunniest regions in Europe.

A solar plant doesn't start with panels. It starts with land, permits and a grid connection point.

That's where most projects stall: land with no grid capacity nearby, permitting that drags on, yield studies that are too optimistic. We solve the hard part first, so that by the time panels go in, the project is already bankable.

How much could a plot of land produce?

Assumptions: 0.83 MWp/ha with fixed-tilt and 0.62 MWp/ha with trackers; typical specific yield per region, order of magnitude from PVGIS (European Commission Joint Research Centre) with usual system losses; 3,500 kWh/year per home, an approximate European average. Indicative values only: not a substitute for a yield study.

Europe's energy transition runs through the south.

Portugal and the European Union have set 2030 targets that require a multiple of today's installed solar capacity. Projects that reach the grid first have the edge.

A Portuguese company, based in Alentejo, with projects across Europe.

Ibesolar – Wind Solutions is a Portuguese renewable energy company headquartered in Portel, in the district of Évora. We cover the full cycle of renewable generation units (planning, development, construction, installation and maintenance) for solar PV and wind projects, and we secure the land to build them on.

Being in Alentejo means being where sun and space allow utility-scale plants. It's from here that we prepare projects for Portugal and the rest of Europe.

Frequently asked questions

Request a study

How much land does a solar farm need?

As a rule of thumb, 1 to 2 hectares per MWp installed, depending on the structure (fixed-tilt or tracker), the slope and site constraints. The simulator on this page gives a first estimate.

How long does it take to develop a solar farm?

It mainly depends on the grid connection and environmental permitting, which vary widely between projects and countries. That's why we start with the grid: it drives the schedule more than anything else.

Do you work across Europe?

Yes. From Portugal, we prepare and install solar PV projects at European level, adapting to each country's permitting and grid connection rules.

Can I lease my land for solar panels?

Yes. If you own rural land with good sun exposure and a power line nearby, we assess its potential and, if it makes sense, propose a long-term lease.

What information should I send to request a study?

The location (coordinates or land registry reference), the approximate area and, if you know it, the nearest power line or substation. For self-consumption, your electricity bills or load profile.

Do you also work with wind energy?

Yes. Besides solar PV, we develop wind and hybrid projects that combine both technologies at the same grid connection point.

Got land, a project or an energy bill to bring down?

Tell us the essentials. We'll reply with a first technical read of the potential and the next steps.

  • A first technical read of the site's potential
  • The next steps and any information still missing
  • Confidentiality for your project and your data
